Their need for a king size bed coupled with the existing stairs running through the middle of the floor and some low angled ceilings created some major space and height challenges. By centering the shower on to the inside wall of the bathroom, it gave the height needed for a ceiling mounted rainhead. To utilize as much space as possible, we tucked a romantic 2-person bathtub in the existing dormer within the shower and surrounded it in bright white subway tiles. The low split ceiling in that area creates a cozy and relaxed bath experience.
Wall to wall frameless glass and a curb-less shower create a seamless divide between the bathroom and the shower. Continuing the encaustic tiles between the spaces makes this bathroom feel spacious. The rustic cappuccino colored double vanity and recessed medicine cabinets gave the homeowners more storage then they had ever had before. Oil rubbed bronze accents and contrasting grout added visual depth of the room.
The new bedroom features lots of natural light, wood flooring and a shiplap feature wall behind the bed. Soft woods tones mixed with fresh white linens creates a rustic comforting space that feels like it’s been there forever.
