Our Process
STEP 1: Connecting
Start the conversation and connect with us on what type of project you are exploring. We can chat on the phone and then set up a meeting at your home so we can really get a feeling for how to you want to customize it and your personal aesthetic.
STEP 2: GETTING STARTED
The first step in design is to measure the space. Depending on the size of your project, we may just need to measure one room, one floor, or the whole house.
STEP 3: CONCEPT DESIGN
We will then begin conceptualizing your new space using your feedback as a guide. If you are doing a new home design, an addition, we will also be coordinating with the local codes to make sure our footprint will be favorable within your municipality. At our first design meeting, we will present you with a 3-D concept rendering live on a screen. The best part is that we can work on it live - any modifications you want to see, we can do it right there!
STEP 4: THE DETAILS
Once we settle on a design to move forward with, we will begin construction drawings and making specific selections for your finishes (cabinets, counters, tile, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, etc). If engineering will be needed, we will engage our engineer and begin coordinating with him. We will meet with you 1-3 times (on average) to select the finishes and pull together the fun and the fluff of the project. We may meet at our office, local showrooms, or your home depending on what our goals are for that meeting.
STEP 5: COMPLETION
When the construction drawings and specification book are complete and have been reviewed and approved by you, we will formally release all of the Project Package to you and your contractor. It will include your drawings, specification book, engineering supplements and any other records that you and your builder need to build your project. Now is the time for them to really be able to analyze the project and provide you with an accurate bid. If permits will be required for your project, we will also coordinate acquiring them for you.
STEP 6: WE AREN'T DONE YET!
We will still be around until the end of your project for support. Your contractor and their team will know that we are always available by phone for any questions or approval for site adjustments. Most questions can be answered over the phone, and sometimes site visits are necessary. We are always happy to do a walk through with any trades person - the electrical walk-through is the most common and one of the most important. Don’t hesitate to reach out! We want your process to be a success just as much as you do!
