We were contacted to help update our clients’ duplex. Him and his wife had been dreaming for years exactly what they wanted to do to make it look nicer and utilize the space of it better. With a budget of $80k, we decided to focus on a new kitchen, a new master bathroom, new hardwood flooring throughout and updated paint everywhere. The client loved the coloring of caramelized bamboo flooring, so we used that as the starting point for selecting the color of the cabinets. We landed on Waypoint maple cabinets with a truffle stain, quartz counters and a glitzy mosaic backsplash. In the master bathroom, we eliminated the large tub and put a walk-in shower in its place. We created a masculine feeling by using large grey tiles and a chunky square metallic accent tile installed at eye level. We also used Waypoint painted grey cabinetry for the vanity and added tapered feet to make it look like a freestanding vanity. The pre-made mirror piece was supplied from AllModern and the globe light sconce was from Shades of Light. The mix of cool and warm greys and bamboo browns made paint colors a delicate challenge. We used Benjamin Moore Silver Bells on all the main floor wall and up the stairs. We complemented that with Super White trim and ceilings.
